Museo Packs – Gallery Adventures in a backpack!
Museo Packs are full of activities designed to inspire, motivate and teach children, ages 6 to 12, about the history and culture of the Canadian Rockies. The packs are available to borrow year round at the museum’s front desk and are included with museum admission.
What kinds of adventures are in the Packs?
- Children will interact with the Museum exhibits with an activity booklet that will lead them through the galleries. They will enjoy a scavenger hunt, solve puzzles and draw pictures.
- Children will investigate a mystery artifact that was just discovered. They will help the Museum by recording information about the artifact and then they will use their imagination to give it a story!
- Children will discover local history and personalities by colouring pages of historical photographs.
There are two themed Museo Packs to choose from:
- Explore Art in the Rockies will engage children with different kinds of art and local artists.
- Discover Adventurers in the Rockies will fascinate children with colourful lives and unique history of the Canadian Rockies. Coming soon.
When a child completes one or all of the activities in the Museo Pack they become a Junior Historian of the Museo Club at the Whyte Museum. They will receive a certificate for their dedication to learning about the history and culture of the Canadian Rockies!
