Mary Schaffer, 1902 Best known in the Canadian Rockies as a buckskin-clad writer and explorer of Maligne Lake, Mary Schaffer was also at home in the finery of Philadelphia.  These newly discovered portraits are among four 5 x 7 glass negative poses, part of the extensive Vaux Family gift of archives and artifacts which includes cameras and photographic accessories, ice axes, survey equipment and other back-country tools.
