Mountain Axe Pin
Developed as an original Whyte Museum
piece, the Mountain Axe pin is a strong symbol of the history
of climbing and the arrival of the Swiss Guides in
the Rocky Mountains. An axe is intertwined by a
coiled mountaineer’s rope, both are crafted based on
artifacts from the Whyte Museum’s Heritage
Collections. This sterling silver brooch is a wonderful celebration of
the first explorers and climbers who came to Banff.
Brooch dimensions; 1.5”x1.5” (3.5x3.5cm)
