The Whyte is a nationally recognized organization dedicated to preserving and sharing art and heritage that enriches our diverse cultural landscape.

 

Through innovative exhibitions, educational programs, and conservation initiatives, The Whyte inspires audiences with engaging, thought-provoking experiences.

 

Founded by artists and philanthropists Peter Whyte and Catharine Robb Whyte, the organization carries forward their vision: celebrating the spirit of our surroundings and the people who call them home, while using its collections as a lens to engage with broader world issues and contemporary cultural dialogues.

 

Today, The Whyte’s programming continues to flourish thanks to the generous support of members, donors, and sponsors.

AMA, BCAA, CAA, and AAA members are eligible for a 10% discount off general admission tickets when visiting The Whyte. 

Backpacks, Large Bags, Pets, Food, Beverages

  • We enjoy pets too; however, they are not allowed in the building (exception made for registered service dogs).

  • We are happy to provide you with a free locker to store your personal belongings, food, and beverages while visiting our exhibitions and archives.

Archives and Special Collections Library

Regular Hours:

Archives and Special Collections appointments may be available

Tuesday – Friday, 1 to 5:00 p.m., to a maximum of three people.

The monitoring and replying to queries through our archives@whyte.org  mailbox is limited to Tuesday – Friday, 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.


Digital reproduction orders are available to order via our online database, but are limited to images that are currently digitized and available on the website.

 

Requests for the digitization of analog material require pre-approval by the Head Archives and Special Collections. Additional fees and restrictions may apply.
