Night at The Whyte is the signature fundraising dinner and cultural celebration hosted in the heart of Banff. Join us for an intimate evening of art, dining and live performance in support of The Whyte. Experience the summer exhibition Thick as Thieves after hours, enjoy dinner and wine pairings by hospitality sponsor The Rimrock Banff, attend a live musical performance by Broadway performer Laird Mackintosh and take part in a reverse raffle featuring exceptional prizes.
Proceeds from Night at The Whyte support The Whyte’s exhibitions, programming, and preservation efforts.
Featured Performance: Laird Mackintosh

Laird Mackintosh recently made international news when he played the title role in the final Broadway performance of The Phantom of the Opera, the longest-running show in Broadway history. Mr. Mackintosh had previously played the Phantom more than 200 times in the New York production. He has enjoyed a long association with the show, having played principal roles in two companies (Toronto and Broadway) for over ten years and 4000 performances. A native of Canada, he was awarded the 2023 Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal for outstanding service to the Province of Alberta in the field of arts and entertainment. Most recently, he played the starring role of Henry Higgins in the 1st National Tour of the Lincoln Center Theatre production of “My Fair Lady”, which opened at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, and also played in Chicago and Los Angeles. He made his Broadway debut as Mr. Banks in the Disney hit “Mary Poppins” and followed it with the leading role of John Utterson in the Broadway revival of “Jekyll & Hyde”. Off-Broadway, he played James Wilson in “1776” at City Center Encores. In Canada, Mr. Mackintosh spent eight seasons as a leading actor at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival where favorite roles included Billy Buck Chandler in “My One and Only”, Boo Radley in “To Kill a Mockingbird”, Leonelo in “Fuente Ovejuna”, Lieutenant Cable in “South Pacific”, Cornelius Hackl in “Hello, Dolly!”, Rapunzel’s Prince in “Into the Woods”, Lord Evelyn Oakleigh in “Anything Goes” and Freddy Eynsford-Hill in “My Fair Lady”. Internationally, he has done ten productions with Toronto’s Baroque theatre company Opera Atelier with performances in Japan and Singapore. He began his career as a dancer in the National Ballet of Canada.
